Pop-up green space – Project 1

2012

In response to the transient nature of the current situation in Hackney Wick and Fish Island and the resulting temporality of some of the activities and uses in the area, the first project was a small-scale intervention occupying a found space within Fish Island. Addressing the lack of public space and particularly ‘green’ space amongst the existing industrial fabric, the task focused on the development of a planted space, either open, enclosed or partly sheltered, a place for relaxation and reflection, for pause and contemplation.
